Geotechnical & Construction Services

geotechnical construction servicesGeotechnical & Construction Services are a critical requirement for new developments.  The Pacific North West is no stranger to rainfall, which is why it is essential to test, assess and reinforce geological circumstances before the construction of new developments.  With over 40 years of geological engineering experience, Hydro Geo & Environmental, Inc. will help mitigate geological factors that can pose as a safety and investment risk.

Our Geotechnical & Construction Services include:

Geotechnical Explorations and Reports: essential for new developments, we offer Geotechnical Explorations Services to provide geotechnical-related and subsurface information which is necessary for the planning, design and construction for your project.  Services include:

  • Reconnaissance and Planning
  • Boring, Sampling and Field Testing
  • Laboratory Testing
  • Geotechnical Exploration Report

Geographic Information Systems and Equipment: we provide slope stability analyses & landslide risk evaluation services by using the Statewide Landslide Information Database for Oregon (SLIDO), remote sensing technology (LIDAR-Geospatial Data) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Grading Observations and Construction Monitoring: we offer grading observations for cut and fill areas, construction monitoring for storm facility, and soil compaction for new developments and subdivisions.

Soil Inspection & Compaction Testing: soil compaction testing is an important measure to implement for new developments, as soil compaction will make it less able to absorb rainfall, therefore increasing the risk of runoff and erosion.  Onsite soil compaction is necessary for the foundation support of new buildings.  We will conduct proper Soil Inspections and Compaction Tests based on your needs.

Percolation and Post-Construction Testing: we will conduct Infiltration Testing for new developments to ensure there is faster or desirable movement of water through the soil.  It will characterize the soil capability to accept water from storm water runoff.  Post construction testing of storm facilities (swales, dry wells, septic systems) can also be conducted to help moderate storm water runoff.

Dry Wells and Cesspool Decommissioning: Former dry wells and cesspools may be revealed on a new construction sites designated for new residential and commercial building.  We will decommission dry wells and cesspools with structural fill installation to ensure that the fill is good enough for foundation support.
